Did the Chrome Team Ditch the Bookmarks Section and Bring Back the Bookmarks Bar?

Update:  I'm thinking this is a bug or Chrome OS specific, since my wife's Apple computer is running Chrome 16.0.891.1 and has the bookmarks section.

Is it just me, or has the Chrome team decided to shelve the whole bookmarks section of the new tab page?

As my daughter would say, "Wheeeeere'd ya go??"
From what I can tell, the bookmark section reverted back to the bookmarks bar, as seen, above.

Is this on all four platforms, or just Chrome OS 0.15.1011.43?

Do you think this change is permanent or temporary?

If intentional, why the change?

I certainly hope this is permanent.

I think I might share your opinion, Tyler. On the other hand, I doubt it's permanent since it's present in my Canary build on Win 7 and my wife's dev build on Mac OS Snow Leopard.

I assume it's either a bug or limited to Chrome OS (and maybe Linux). Yet, if it's intentional, why the discrepancy?

FYI, the bookmarks section is back in
Google Chrome 16.0.898.0 (Official Build 103657)
Platform 0.0 (Official Build) dev-channel x86-mario

Haha. Now, the section is gone and the bar is back, in canary 16.0.901.0. I wonder if the Chrome team is struggling to make up its mind on the subject.

I'm unsure, yet going throw and deleting my bookmarks would probably help me out a lot since I think I've kept every single one I've ever bookmarked...

Ctrl+shift+o (bookmark manager).
