First Temple in Former USSR

On August 29, 2010, President Thomas S. Monson dedicated this temple in Kyiv, Ukraine.

President George Q. Cannon once said, "“Every foundation stone that is laid for a Temple, and every Temple completed … lessens the power of Satan on the earth, and increases the power of God and Godliness.” Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "Temple Blessings", Liahona, Aug. 2010, 4–6

I love temples! I was just reading a church magazine on temples with Jon on Sunday. They are all so unique and beautiful and remind me of why we are here and purpose of life. I drive by the Sacramento temple every day on my way to work, and every day it makes me smile because I love being inside and feeling the spirit. It makes me want to go more often than I do. It provides such a clarity of thought and peace of mind. It really is a blessing to have them on Earth. Especially if you are fortunate enough to live close to one.

Yes, I really appreciate living close to a temple.

We currently live about 1:40 away. We used to live like :02 away, in Provo. :-/

I got a quick picture in front of the Kiev temple. It's right off the highway for everyone to see. It looks spectacular in what can be a dreary day in Ukraine.

@Jesse.

Awesome. Is the picture on a blog of yours?
